Basic and advanced optimization controls

Basic

Core controls for units, kerf, material matching, and labels.

UnitsThis changes how sizes are shown in tables, labels, and exports.You will see different unit symbols, but the solver still calculates in millimeters.

Quick start presetsThis applies a practical preset for common planning goals before you tune advanced controls.Use this to start faster, then adjust solver mode and heuristics only if needed.

Kerf (mm)This is the saw blade width that is removed on every cut.A larger kerf usually increases waste and can make some parts impossible to fit.

Allow rotationThis turns panel rotation on or off for all parts in the project.When off, parts keep their entered orientation and may need more sheets.Show labels on panelsThis only changes whether panel names are drawn on the layout image.Solver placement and cut math stay exactly the same.Match by materialThis only lets a part use stock rows with the same material value.If materials do not match, the part stays unallocated even when size fits.Respect grain directionThis enforces grain direction for parts that have grain set.Rotation can be blocked for those parts, which may lower yield.
